Blood

The weaknesses of Hester Heels aka SP are explored as Julius tries to get a sample of his blood in this underground sewer scene.

Underground prison

He stood underground with his hands shackled behind his back and his legs cemented in the ground. Hester Heels remained a captive to some of the most powerful people in the world. Hester is no ordinary man and has mastered his special ability to generate an immeasurable amount of strength. His genetic mutation allows him to store his energy and release it instantaneously.

His capture's know of his superhuman abilities and have taken precautions to prevent him from using them. They have mounted a steel frame to his body which is being used to support part of the road that a previous column in the sewer used to hold up. In addition to the tons of asphalt, concrete and dirt above him, Hester had the fate of rush hour commuters weighing on his mind.

The mental and physical drain on Hester was enough to prevent him from storing up energy at the usual rate but he was still too strong to get a blood sample from, which is what they were after. With his blood they would be able to genetically alter the code to develop an army of super humans. Hester knew that the fate of the world depended on whether or not they got that code.

When a guard was ordered to come over with a needle to try and extract some blood from Hester he seized his opportunity by braking the guard's arm with a swing from his elbow. He had built up just enough energy to mount an escape. Hester could see Julius at the end of the tunnel. Julius was one of the people that did this to him and now he had him in his sights.

A rush of energy filtered out to every fiber of Hester's body as his mind focused on three power moves. Hester flexed his shoulders and snapped the eight bolts sending the steel frame off of his shoulders. Hester picked up the broken column and put it back before the steel frame could come crashing down. Just as the street was supported, he leaped out of the ground breaking the concrete to lunge at Julius. The evil mastermind was one step ahead of him and in a split second was propelled a hundred feet straight up out of the sewer from chem jets attached to his boots. From there Julius made his escape via helicopter, but without the blood. Hester could only look on as Julius disappeared into the night sky, but he knew this was only the beginning of what was to come. 

The Beginning

The Early Years

Strength Pulsar originated in the womb. His parents were normal middle class Americans and there was nothing particularly special about his situation but strength pulsar is a genetic anomaly. The mutation occurred when his mother was in a car accident and nearly lost Hester in the first trimester. Hester Tanner Heels is what they named him. Tanner was his grandfather’s name. His mother looked up to her dad because of the struggles he overcame in life. Personal demons and vices that controlled most of his life were defeated in his twilight years and this courage is what she hoped Hester would have. The car accident injured Hester’s mother. Internally she had some bleeding and Hester suffered some torn tissue. His mother released some hormones that infiltrated the tissue of Hester. The hormones connected in such a way that his whole fiber became a protein rich tissue that could act as one muscle. This was the beginning of Strength Pulsar.

As a child he didn’t understand or know how to use his strength. Normally he was a strong kid but still in the realm of other strong kids. Occasionally, he would accidentally channel his power and everyone would stare at him. He would damage things, and scare people because he didn’t know how to use it. In his teenage years he knew the power was there, but didn’t know why, and at the beginning stages of learning, exactly how to use it. It wasn’t until he was almost twenty and going to college that he started to understand the nature of his power.

By the time he graduated from college with a physics degree he knew that he had a genetic mutation and that he could use it in a variety of ways. He started to practice using his power by training in the desert. He set up an obstacle course with dirt, tires, cars and trees and ran the course through many variations. On his hands, backwards, eyes closed and anything he could think of. His time became faster and faster until he was comfortable with his power.

He started to wonder how he could use his power and realized that he would have to protect it. He knew that people would be looking to steal it from him once they knew he existed. If they were successful there was no telling what they would do with the power. It could be catastrophic to life as he knew it. Hester knew under any circumstances he couldn’t let anyone know about his secret.
